A Remote Patient Case Study

A Remote Patient Case Study

Paul was referred to my practice by his mother, who lived in New York City and relocated to North Carolina. Initially, I connected with Paul when he scheduled a consultation to discuss the possibility of working remotely.

He was listless due to chronic bladder infections and kidney stones which began five years ago. Paul was planning a visit to New York City to see friends and family and thought it was an excellent opportunity to schedule an initial appointment.

After his initial appointment, muscle testing determined numerous food sensitivities such as dairy, corn, tyramines, and oxalates. Oxalates found in many healthy foods like swiss chard, avocados, spinach, and others were a big part of Paul's healthy lifestyle. Oxalic acid is linked to kidney stones and urinary tract imbalances. Microbiome imbalances and vitamin deficiencies were also identified through muscle and reflex testing.

Paul was put on a supplement and nutrition protocol to help balance and support his body. He returned to North Carolina and continued his follow-up visits remotely. He eliminated the foods that he came up sensitive to and began taking the nutritional supplementation recommendations. After three months, oxalate-containing foods tested more tolerable for him. The recommendation to refrain from eating foods with oxalates was modified to a maximum of having these foods two times per week.

Paul had no recurrence of bladder infections or kidney stones from the beginning of his protocol. He had significant improvement in his immune response, noting that he would often get colds once every two months, which had been reduced to a mild cold annually. Paul continues to have follow-up visits remotely every couple of months to determine what nutritional support his body requires.
